Benefits of Membership

Membership is open to any UK Local Authorities or Port Health Authorities, which have responsibilities for public and/or animal health in connection with aeronautical, maritime and coastal activities, and international and intra-community trade and travel. Associate membership is available to any organisation with an interest or involvement with Port Health.

Significant discounts: Association run free/low cost CPD courses for members such as the Legionella – ships water safety training day on a cruise ship, Tilbury 17 June 2024

Lead working groups for updated industry guidance (cruise industry norovirus guidance working group, for example)

Membership of the local PLaN group (Port Liaison Network) for workshops, meetings

Organise routine meetings such as the PHA BCP group. Previous Association run groups have included the cruise re-start group.

Free attendance for one staff member to attend the November annual training day AGM (Corporate and Associate member only)

Monthly newsletter to keep members up to date on a broad range of port health matters.”

Lobby on behalf of Port Health Authorities to central government and other public bodies. Liaison with trade and government bodies, respond to consultations and promotion of PHAs/work of PHAs.
